Completely different cars. My vote goes to the Z. Having driven a C7Z, I would love to own one. I think you'll have a lot more fun driving that & it's obviously faster.

I would take Banana Thunder! I rented a regular Stingray and did a 350 mile trip through some twisty mountain roads a couple of months ago, and I was surprised how much I loved the car. It was eager to dig into the corners but also surprisingly comfortable on the freeway, it shuts down cylinders and gets decent mileage if you want. I have had 5 Audis, and while they are lovely cars, they have become somewhat boring to me anyway.

Kind of red herring IMO. Yes, no one wants to be driving a true track-car out on the open road, but one just has to go look at what won the "best track car" competition that was recently done to see what that really is (it's basically a race car that you can't do anything but drive to/from the race course on a totally smooth road).

A modern GM car with magnetic shocks should do pretty good and have enough adjustability for day-to-day road driving, but when you want to get on it somewhere on a desolate mountain road, it's going to react like you want it to react, not like a massive-understeer car that has all kinds of stability control kicking in to keep you from getting snap-oversteer after massive understeer caused by the weight hanging in front of the front axle.

As cool as the RS7 is, I'd see it as more of a high end family transport than an "enjoy the heck out of driving it" car. Yes, it'll go like stink, but IMO it would be better to have the complete package. That means a balanced car, not just chassis balance due to engine placement, but balanced as far as handling, brakes, engine, etc.

IDK... Since you've thrown in a big car like the RS7... why not just get a CPO'd M5 ? Its obvious that you don't need a AWD car. And the fit and finish of the C7 puts me more than a little but off. Sure its fast as hell... but that wears off after awhile.

I vote for a M5.

RS7, tune it 750HP monster. Have you driven the vette its race car like and not very comfortable, if its going to be a weekend fighter then get the vette as a DD RS7 is sick. are you 65 or older because that's your new forum members with the vette

Have you? Magnetic suspension FTW. It's comfy & tame during normal driving & the competition seats are wonderful. They reminded me of the sport seats in my old 335.

The RS7, well...it's still an Audi with tons of electronics.

If you have snow, the RS7 would be a good choice because of Quattro but if it's barely any snow, I would grab the z06 and have someone drive me to work or get a beater.
More reliable LOL is that before or after the over heating limp mode they hit after two hits on the hwyway lol... Every person I've ran in to with a new z06 has had the car go in to limp mode mid way through a pull on the hwy, one occure to a close friend of mine while he was racing another f80m3. While I know 3 rs7 owners that go to the track and beat on the car the whole way there with no issues.

at this point getting a c7 with the z51 package and getting a procharger put on it seems like a much better buy.

Heat issue is an easy fix.

You say easy fix but when a car Moving down a high way over heats that got less than 2k miles on it there is more issues. Even one of the proline cars over heated the first lap on the track. car had a lower t stat. was on stock pulleys with a full exhuast and tune. But a car going in to limp mode that suppose to be a track car is flat out embarressing. Even more so that the car has been out almost a year and still the issue hasn't been fixed.

How can you be torn between 2 cars that are so different?

That's what I was thinking too, but then realized, it's likely one of those (perceived) "smart" Vs. "yolo" decisions.

I will preface my thoughts by saying I'm not a huge Corvette guy. I've always thought they were rather one-dimensional and cheaply built. That said, you could easily DD a C7 Z. Idk why someone would say otherwise. It's true they still don't ride great, and the Audi's interior is vastly nicer, but it be driven daily. And it WILL be far more reliable and cheaper to own. They are completely docile when driven lightly, but turn into animals when driven hard. Definitely a lot of fun.

The RS7 I am a big fan of. Eyeball flattening acceleration that can pretty much be used any time, any place. Plus a gorgeous interior, and great usability. It's a shame the back isn't half as good looking as the front, though. It'll be much easier and less stressful to drive daily than the Z still.

In the end, it really depends what you want. The RS7 will be easier to drive and more practical, but the Z will be more fun and has more sense of occasion when you drive it. Can't go wrong either way, but if it were me, if I didn't need the room or practicality of the Audi, I'd buy the Vette.

For snow? Of course not, but if I did not work from home, I would daily my C6Z without a problem & my suspension is a lot more harsh. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

If you NEED a backseat, of course any Vette is out as a daily.

Go check out Corvetteforum.com. Plenty of guys have solved their heat issues.

I do agree that GM releasing the car with these heat issues is a huge snafu. Looks like they made sure to solve it on the new ZL1.

Z06 will attract a lot more attention so if u don't like that then get the rs7. They are totally different cars so only u would know what u need/what.

lets be honest you still hang out in the BMW forum because everyone of your fellow peers is 65+++ with aarp insurance. There is no way you can drive a zo6 vette with sport cups for tires everyday. You have to be a single dude with no kids (obviously something wrong with you from the get go). the zo6 vette is a race car meant to be driven on a track. its brutal for 6-3 guy its a cockpit
