BMW Individual Steering Wheel Concern!

A very serious question for all of you 7 Series Individual owners:

Do you have the "U" shapped silver / chromed trim on your steering wheel that the virtualzation depicts on the BMWUSA's build your own site, or not!?

My car seems to be missing it!?

I opted for the steering wheel without the wood inlay since the heated steering wheel feature was more important to me than the wood inlay. My steering wheel looks like the one in the first picture less the wood inlay. I think it's brushed aluminum and not chrome!

I LOVE the heated feature, I've been using it almost every day for the past few weeks now that the weather is getting colder. It's so nice to not have to put on gloves and have a nice warm steering wheel in your hands while driving

Vasil: Thank you for your compliment.

xDrive: So you have the brushed aluminum trim as well as the rectangular "BMW Individual" plaque!?

I've seen several dozens of individual 7er - the silver "U" is a mistake of configurator...

Mine is the sport steering wheel and it doesn't have the 'Individual' tag on it and it honestly doesn't bother me that it's not there... As I said, it was more important to me to have the steering wheel heated than a logo or wood ring on it.

I'm sure you can request it and they would probably also build it for you... all for a price of course!

IIRC, it's $400 for the special request + whatever the steering wheel costs and then the modification on top of that.

IMHO, it's not worth the hassle or the cost...

I believe it's just a part of the steering wheel that can be interchanged with that on my current wheel; easily removed. But, no, for the whole steering wheel to be replaced, not something I would consider / do.

Lancaster, thank you again for the info. I'd love to have a thread on BMW Individual models, as I'm sure others on this site would too. I am very interested in the possibilities! Mine is Citrin Black with Amaro Brown with Piano Finish Black. What other combinations have you come across? And, if you don't feel that this site has too much traffic, I recommend that you also check out: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=143. I frequent both sites often. I look forward more neat info! My best.
