Urgent Help with M-Sport package

Hi,

I am about to order a 740Li with the M-sport package.

Reading the catalog, I understand that the M-sport package comes with door sill finishers in M logo that is illuminated.

However, my dealer tells me that the door sill finishers in M logo is NOT illuminated.

Can anyone who has ordered and taken delivery with M-sport package verify?

I sign on the dotted line tomorrow for a special indent car.

Many tx,
Beagle

All - got it! Thanks. Will be asking dealer to retain the existing illuminated door sills with the M Sports package.

If the dealer orders the car from the factory, the factory will install the M logo door sills, which means the dealer will not get any illuminated door sills with your car. Now if the dealer has a non M-Sport package car on the lot that they are trying to sell you with an M-Sport package, that would be a rather large undertaking on the dealers part as it requires quite a few large exterior cosmetic changes (e.g. swap out the entire front and rear bumper!). I don't think this is the case, so I don't think you will get the illuminated door sills since the dealer doesn't have them unless you purchase them from the parts department and if I recall correctly, they cost somewhere upwards of US$600 !?!

Hi,

Thanks. I should clarify that I am not in the US but in Singapore. Over here, as in Europe, we have the option of speccing the car in any configuration we want for assembly at factory. Not confined with those defined packages for the US market :-)

Cheers,
Beagle

True, you may have more flexibility to configure your car differently, but I wouldn't want to pay your customs 41% ad valorem tax!
