Wow, just tried building a 2017 540i xdrive and it doesn't show the M-sport package as part of the packages and is missing many stand alone options.
Also, half the time you choose an option it will change your interior color, exterior color or trim choice. Was this supposed to be a Beta test?????? Great job BMW.

What I'm saying is I was not able to build the same car using the new system that I built using the old system. The options and packages just aren't there (i.e. M-sport, dynamic damper control as a stand alone option). It seems when I try to add a stand alone option it'll change the interior color and trim. If they're bugs that need to be worked out, then why roll it out to the public? Or are we just going to call these "alternative builds"

I like. Works better than the old one that I always had problems with.
It's likely they changed it to make it more mobile friendly since most people use their phones and ipads to browse the web. |

The packages don't stay checked for me and I don't see the individual colors (exterior, interior, trim) anymore.
It's much faster to load but I have to scroll to see everything so it's not that great. |

I can't find a M3 to configure. I have to pull up a saved configuration and get to the old version.

yup totally sucks. Why cant you change from interior to exterior views easily? I dont know why they dont use the same one as one of the EU ones. Not sure which one it is but you can look for yourself. Much easier to use. You can even build the new LCI M4 and LCI 2.0 M3 with black 666 wheels! yay!

That's quite possible because on my laptop there's too much white space, all of the text is too big and I have to scroll to see what used to fit on one page before. It's pretty easy to develop a web page that displays one way for regular screens (laptop and desktop) and a different way for mobile devices, which is easy to detect. The rule for web development used to be, the less scrolling the better, make it fit on one screen if possible, which the old version did better than this version.

Every year, it's the same thing. The new configurator comes out, and it is buggy for a while. This year's configurator update is much more extensive than last year's, so that's no surprise. I was able to build my same old F34 specs (that I am pondering to order) for the same identical price, but for some of the package selections, I had to re-select several a couple of times before they "stuck". Hey, if the early cars can be sold for "further development" by the customer, why should the configurator not also be so. Oh, I do like the old configurator MUCH more - it was cleaner, the summary was a more comprehensible summary, and the 3D views more useful (what happened to the 3D interior?). Patience.

Not a fan. The old one was very easy to flip back and forth. I don't like this one.

This new design does not use screen space efficiently at all. The font is so large you could read it from a mile away.
