I don't feel this review was a proper thrashing in most driving conditions people face as it seemed like it was entirely or almost entirely on highways. There was, for example, no test of accelerating from a stop with electric or gas or both. I would also like to know how the 740xe system compares to the i8 system, which appears more calibrated towards performance.

In any event, I suppose this is environmentally a good thing but I am not ready for 4 cylinders in a relatively heavy 7 series with or without electric boost.

I find this model 7 Series G11 very attractive . When you're E-Drive in i8 you are propelled by FWD however G11 7 Series come with either RWD or 4x4 . I think , when you activate E-Drive Mode in G11 740 ,it must be engaging RWD system .
2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine ,model name 730 , can manage 0-100 km/h just 6.2 seconds .It's not so fast but acceleration value is good for a car of this size and engine
