I have to agree with both of you, sort of. His first move on HAM was just stupid. He was the only one to pay a price, but just barely. The Seb incident was very, very close to being a successful pass; I would say a matter of inches. Hero if he makes it, zero because he didn't. The result was bad and he was penalized. Over and done, move on.

But, WOW what an exciting race! And we in the US were treated to the best coverage from ESPN yet. They added time at both ends of the main event and we got to see the whole Sky broadcast. Thank you Mother's for making it all commercial free!

To be fair, this is the season for MAX to learn about patience and when to strike.
Just like in Shanghai, he should know he's got the all the grip while others will struggle. Especially he doesn't need to make up a lot of time, so there's no need to rush. Especially the Hamilton move.

A race winner can overtake, a championship can wait till the perfect moment and strike.

He reminds me Hamilton back in 2007/08, Vettel in early 2010s. Where as both did a lot of mistakes and crashed into others a lot. With gaining experience, Max will learn when to strike and leave the opponent no change to fight back.

VER needs to calm himself a bit. He is approaching Maldonado like numbers. He crashes out/is crashed out once every 16 races. Maldonado was crashed out/was crashed out once every 13.5 races.

Great talent. Showing very poor judgement in all three races this season.

Such a good race. It’s so hard not to enjoy a Ricciardo win.

That was wacky one. Looked like all Vettel with Kimi being left behind when first Ferrari messes up their pit strategy, Red Bull capitalizes on the yellow flag and then Crash Verstappen manages to upend things even more putting Kimi on the podium. The coverage is certainly better with no commercials, but I still prefer the old announcers.

The move on Seb was just as stupid as on HAM. He hadn't yet caught-up to VET as they entered the turn (in contrast to when RIC passed); instead, he just didn't brake, which put him next to VET but out of control. 100% avoidable, 100% irresponsible.

No, he's past that stage, as Vettel has said. He's just reckless.

Haha...I'll give him this season to learn about temperament and patience.

Like Martin brundle said, he can't just expect HAM to jump away at a long sweep corner and VET disappear when he already committed the turn-in at the hairpin.

RIC showed us how to overtake, make yourself visible!

Poor Kimi, I don't scream at the TV very often but Vettel damn near putting him the wall at the start and totally screwing up his momentum was just bullshit. Very good race though!!

I felt like this is kind of a karma result for Ferrari.

VET squeezed RAI at the start, I can understand that, but then after the mis-calculated pitstop.
Ferrari pit wall decided to use RAI as a blocker to slow down BOT in favor to VET. That pissed me off a bit, even though I can see Ferrari always favor one driver over the other.

Then all the drama happened and Kimi ended on the podium, and VET got smashed around and dropped like a stone.

Oh really, Mr. Vettel is calling someone immature and reckless. Considering his own 2017 season, during which he took his teammate out of several races, purposely slammed into a competitor's car DURING A SAFETY CAR LAP, and came dangerously close to collecting enough points to sit out a race, I have to say his opinion doesn't carry much weight with me.

I don't recall this. I DO recall one race (Singapore?), where the start saw Raikkonen come flying up the inside of the track, completely out of control, then lost it and collected Vettel and (perhaps) Verstappen.

BTW, one doesn't finish 1st or 2nd in the championship 6 times by constantly crashing out.

This is the first season I have had access to full F1 races, thanks espn! The first 3 races have been great. I don't mind Max being a little reckless it makes the race a lot more interesting.

If you review that incident from the 2017 Singapore GP, it is clear that Vettel is 100% at fault.
