You want to fly to Indiana to take some pictures of my rides?

It's lovely here this time of year. About 20 degrees with 9 inches of snow on the ground. Don't mind the 30 mph winds, either.

Haha judging by the quality of the photography, I think it would be worth it.

Thanks for sharing the photos.

Your lighting is good, and you obviously have the skills and equipment to take nice pictures, but I think you need to pick better locations for the cars you take pictures of. I think you're not thinking about the composition of the photos you're taking.

Like, why is the NSX on a field, surrounded by trees that almost dominate over the car itself? Shouldn't it belong on the road, or a race track?

I agree; that was client's choice.

Plus I also use a variety of locations and I try to avoid using the same locations too often.

Okay, I'll ask the $64K question: How DO you do the lighting, if you're not using HDR? For instance, perhaps you could walk us through how you shot pic #2.

I don't like giving away the full secrets, but I will encourage you to think outside the box: take away the element of time, and you have a lot more freedom to do things that you wouldn't be able to, say, in 1/60s.

The IS-F photo, for example, is 38 seconds.

These are fantastic shots my man. Very nice work. I have been doing some amateur shoots with my Nikon D5100 and lighting seems to be the entire key to success. I have found longer exposure times to yield excellent results but nothing anywhere near as incredible as your work. Of course you are obviously a professional and I'm just some computer nerd with an entry-level DSLR so its to be expected!

Thanks! Lighting definitely is the key. It helps define the shape of the car.
Here's an example from Friday. It really highlights the wheel arch.
