F01/F02 Angel Eye Upgrade - Pics

Ok, so after reading seemingly EVERY thread on this topic, I have yet to find a definitive answer to the question of what angel eye bulbs to use for a clean, easy upgrade to the stock bulbs.

It seems like LEDs give the best light, however most throw error codes.

The PIAA route seems most logical for those simply wanting a change without the resistor headache, however it seems that unless you go BLUE, the light stays almost the same color.

Now, deciding on the bulbs shouldn't be so tough, except that there are almost NO pictures of the F01/F02 with upgraded lights out there. There are PLENTY of kits being marketed as being the best. Stand behind your product and show us pictures. I don't care about 5 Series, or 3 Series compatibility and looks. I own a 750i, which has a completely different lighting system.

SO, those of you with Angel Eye upgrades, for the benefit of other 7 owners: PLEASE post pics of your setup, stating what kit you got, and if you've had issues with coding or error messages. Thanks to all!

Nope, nothing on the market will give you the results you want. Trust me, I've looked at every single option for the past year. The issue is the corona rings on the f01; they're not designed for LED bulbs so what happens is the the rings are prefect at night but during the say they're not visible, this is due to the design of the rings and there's nothing you will find on the market will fix this issue. Only fix is if you retrofit the LCI headlamp but the cost isn't worth it.

I got fed up and went with PIAA's, the PIAA's got rid of the piss yellow color but that's about it.

Im using the letronix kit from Germany. It throws error codes, but not all the time.

You can see pics in my other thread.

The PIAA's sound like the way to go. Any info on which ones/color? Pics?

[Update]: PIAA's ordered.

I'll try to snap pics tomorrow but basically the bulbs project a whitish/yellowish light instead of the piss yellow you get from the stock bulb but at night they look yellow but not as bad as the oem bulb.

Well, I went and ordered the PIAA Xtreme White H8's

This is the result, not too dramatic of a difference, but it definitely takes the yellow out of the ring. Good enough for now...

The first shot is of both PIAAs in. The second shot shows a comparison with the driver's side being PIAA and passenger stock.

I ordered Phillips Diamond Vision 5000k H8 halogen bulbs. I'll post pics, I get them on Thursday.

Nice. I was debating between those and PIAA. I'm thinking of switching, if the Phillips end up being better.

How much would it cost to retrofit the LCI headlights? Has anyone done it? I wonder if they'd still throw codes? Is it a one way trip or could you go back afterwards? The real trick would be getting the new LCI LED headlights.

Probably reversible, however the cost is prohibitive. My guess is ~$3000 all said and done.

LCI has already been done, it'll cost upwards of $4000 because you'll need to swap out a module as well.
