question about lack of spare tire

I am new to BMW and this forum. Having driven Audis for 20 years and currently driving my third consecutive S8, I am about to go over to the other side and have the 2013 Alpina B7 on order (SWB). Living in the North East, I am getting the XDrive and will also be getting the 18" Alpina winter tire package for the Dec-Mar period. I have two questions: Will the 18"s look cheesy on such a big sexy car (and if so, are 19" snows an option)? And more importantly, how concerned should I be that the car has neither a spare tire in the trunk nor run-flat tires? Apparently the Alpina 21" are not run-flat. I never see any B7s here in New England and maybe there is a reason for that. Thanks.
