I actually like VW Golf cars. I never really had issues with golfs trying to race me. Although there are far more expensive cars in Arcadia than a M lol.

I like VWs... my very first car that is mine was a VW Jetta. I loved that little thing and I still do, wish I didn't have to get rid of it. If I am not trying to prioritize a SUV for the family, I'd get another VW in a heartbeat.

So you could not pull on stock F8xs with your stage 2 APR R?

I currently have both a stock S3(same as powertrain as R) and a ZCP F80 with DCT. I actually traded my 6MT F80 for the S3. Although the S3 can definitely launch hard in any weather conditions, the S3 feels dog slow from a roll after driving the F80 6MT and S3 back to back. My new ZCP with DCT feels even faster than my 6MT F80.

These little cars can launch, hence the low ETs. You can tune the R/S3... You can also tune the F8x for basically the same price from BMS.

It's rather tiresome.
Every area has their 'special people'. I remember on the Prairies it was guys in Dodge Rams who thought their 5,000 pound slugs were Hellcats. Nothing quite as funny as looking in the rear view and seeing a hick almost lose it as he tries to keep up on a sharp turn.

This. With just a couple easy mods, the GTI and R can be properly quick. I know 5 Golf R drivers, and not one of them is stock.

Sometimes other drivers are just in a hurry and people confuse it with a street race challenge.

Didn't know you got rid of the R. What did you switch to?

When I was 16 driving around my 1.8T Nevar Lose edition GTI, I would try and catch up to cool cars to see them. Never raced, but if another enthusiast wanted to have some fun, I was usually happy to oblige.

Now that I have my 128i and MK7 GTI, I still do the same thing and see others do the same to me.

It is only annoying when jap crap pulls up to me and wants to throwdown a quarter mile for pink slips.

Love the cars and also dislike the drivers. They do come across like they have something to prove but always fail miserably.

But I don't let it take away from what is a fantastic car.

You know when I'm in my c63, m3 and 340i drivers are no different these days unfortunately. They almost always pull up next to me and fart in order to get my attention. Again love the car but no your fart is not impressing me.

Probably compounded by the 'race car' motif of their ads here on US TV. At first I thought it was just a series of coincidences but then the wife and I started paying attention and damn near 70%+ of interactions with Altimas are near disastrous due to lousy aggressive driving or completely distracted driving.

We paid attention to many other makes but Nissan Altimas win hands down - Bizarre! Apologies to those that drive them and hoping you are in the other 30%!!
I've never noticed Altimas in Houston. For me, it's always the guys with the jacked up trucks driving them like sports cars.

Haven't noticed this but I don't drive a car people try racing with. When I have been behind the wheel of fast cars, the BMW guys adore getting into it

Personally, I find that a lot of pickup truck drivers and Jeep guys (mainly modded ones) are dickheads. Subaru Outback people just love clogging the left lane. Tesla people are usually smug techies who never drive recklessly (like BMW folks) cause they are mostly just rich nerds.
