A'holes at BMW seem determined to keep my car seat needs at bay. Mini's suck, the M240i/M2 is too impractical with a kid, and we own an F30 and it's boring as hell and way too big. This would address my needs perfectly (with three pedals) but I've got to move to get one.

I love those. I would be all over one if we could get them here.

I believe they use to be made in germany for the higher end golfs but not anymore.

One thing i can't stand on my brothers GTi is his taillights. They just look cheap compared to the euro version.

Fun little car but def. has trouble putting the power down unless you get some serious tires.

Ofcourse we will tout it's german lineage. Lol!! It's german. Doesn;t matter where the assembly line is.

Are BMW's built in South Africa ... African?

FWIW, I had both the '13 MK6 (Germany) and now the '17 MK7 (Mexico), and if I were to trust my own subjectivity I would say the "Mexico build" quality, finish and lack of squeaks/rattles seems to be superior if anything. But then again that may be the independent rear suspension and leather tainting my judgement.

That's incredible. You are right. Some dealerships have them listed for mid-high $40's. Which is insane!!!

But there is also no shortage of $36k brand new R's. I realize the inventory now is much more favorable, as I recall when they first came out you would be lucky to have your choice of color. Dealerships had one or two cars "in transit" usually, and were holding them pretty close to the chest. Kind of like M2's now, I guess.

Nice! Congrats!

A friend of mine has a mk7 and I finally convinced him to do some exhaust work, so i took him to my local guy and had him take of his resonator and 2 cats, and it sounds great. Not too loud but sound is definitely there, and on upshifts it makes a nice pop.

For me Id rather do fabrication than paying couple thousand dollars for an exhaust, and have pretty identical sound.

Just picked up my GTI Autobahn to replace my 135i a couple days ago. Really impressed with this little guy. The adjustable DCC shocks are a really nice feature.

I was always wondering about the DCC suspension. My GTI does not have it, but it seems like a good bang for the buck. I believe the rear sway bar is beefier on DCC cars as well, which is a plus.

And the other bonus of the PP pack is the front diff that lets you put power down better.

The DCC is really nice tho. I was carrying my rims to America's tire and they were bouncing around quite a bit and knocking into each other. I just switched the DCC from sport to comfort and no more bouncing. It really works and is quite impressive.

I do have the performance pack (brakes, power bump, and LSD diff) on my Autobahn and lighting as well. Not sure how the options are bundled now, but DCC was separate when I bought and a pretty rare option. Wheels and good rubber make a huge difference on this car as well. Seems like you already have that covered.

Nice wheel upgrade

I'm considering the same car in a year or so and the stock wheels look like they belong in a food processor instead of on a car

Looks like you're right. The DCC is a forced package only on the Autobahn.

Those wheels look sharp and really match the car.
