It's 1.4 miles - here's more info:

The Koenigsegg One:1 owned by the BHP Project and driven by Oliver Webb broke the Vmax200 speed record not once, not twice but three times last weekend, with a terminal speed of 240mph over the 1.4 mile track at Bruntingthorpe, in the United Kingdom.

If some of that last sentence didn’t make sense to you, here are the main players in this drama…..
  • The BHP Project is the online presence that represents a rather extraordinary collection of sports cars, including the blue carbon Koenigsegg One:1.
  • Oliver Webb (Oli) is a World Endurance Championship driver from the UK, driving in the LMP1 class for ByKolles Racing in 2016.
  • Vmax200 by Auto Vivendi – from the event’s own website – “is the UKs premier top–speed driving event where owners of sports cars, supercars and hypercars gather at a private runway to drive their cars to their limits.”

The most recent Vmax200 meeting was held this past weekend, 21 May 2016, and the BHP Project One:1 was back at Bruntingthorpe to work the tarmac even harder than in previous outings. This car recorded a previous best of 225mph in September 2015. It was hampered by a small wheel alignment issue at that meeting and it wasn’t considered safe to go for more. 225mph is extremely fast, but it’s shy of the Vmax200 record of 229mph, set by a tuned Porsche 911 in 2013.

That record didn’t last long once this particular Vmax200 meeting got underway. The One:1 was first to break the old 229mph record with a 230mph run. And there was much celebration.

Another tuned Porsche 911 recorded a 231mph run a few minutes later, which meant the three-year-old Vmax200 record had been broken twice in the space of just five minutes.

Then came the rain. As the track was too damp for seriously fast times, the BHP Project guys turned to offering passenger rides for a lucky group of attendees. The rain stopped and the track began to dry – slowly – but enough for Oli to get a good enough launch during one of the passenger rides to set a new Vmax200 record at 235mph.

That’s with a passenger. One very lucky passenger, I’d suggest.

With this time in the bank, the team decided to give Oli one more turn at a full sprint and neither he nor the car let them down. The new record speed was 240mph, some 11mph faster than the record at the beginning of the day and we’re told it’s the fastest a car (of any description) has ever travelled at Bruntingthorpe.

Agreed I will !

But think "your" bank account is required for the pick-up ...
You saw the price of the thing ?

Sadly we need to keep it with a dream

Big deal, not. Nurburgring time and what's the ultimate top speed? Veyron is still 254mph with no track length limit

Nurburgring is an interesting question ... seems like they're such a small company they don't yet have an expert in their cars on that track according to R&T from April 14th:
Quote:
Back in late 2014, Koenigsegg issued a warning to the auto industry at large, and Porsche in particular: Kiss your Nurburgring records goodbye. The Swedish hypercar maker intended to take the 1,340-hp One:1 to the famous German track and shatter the 6:57 lap record set by the Porsche 918.

The record attempt never happened. A horrific crash in March of 2015 killed a Nurburgring spectator, leading 'Ring authorities to implement much-needed safety improvements and impose speed limits on certain segments of the track. For a year, the competition among top-tier automakers for the fastest Nurburgring lap was postponed.

Now, the speed limit has been lifted, and Koenigsegg says it's preparing to bring the One:1 to the Green Hell. Just not in an attempt to set a lap record.

At least, that's how Koenigsegg's Steven Wade puts it on the automaker's blog. "We maintain our desire to show what our cars can do on the ultimate automotive proving ground," Wade writes. "We won't be doing a lap record in the immediate term, but we will be there and because people will see us there and expect all sorts of things, we thought we'd get out ahead of the car-spotters and tell you what we're up to."

"While we foresee this taking several months, those months comprise only one or two days at the track each month," the blog says. "We will not be testing on public days when the track is full of 'public' drivers. We will be testing on private days that we can gain access to."

And while Koenigsegg's factory driver Robert Serwanski has plenty of experience with the One:1—he's driven it to a world record 0-300km/h-0 time, and definitively hauled it around Suzuka Circuit—he won't be the driver on duty when Koenigsegg hits the 'Ring for a totally-not-record-breaking lap. "Intimate knowledge of the track takes a long, long time to build and we are aiming to secure a driver with maximum experience at this most demanding of tracks," Koenigsegg's Wade writes.

We should point out that Serwanski is no slouch getting around the Nurburgring in a Miata, but the Green Hell's 70-plus corners probably come at you a lot quicker when you're peddling 1350 horsepower. We can understand why Koenigsegg wants a 'Ring specialist at the wheel.

Does all of this sound like a lot of effort to put into a not-record-setting lap? Yeah, we got that impression too. By the end of Wade's blog post, he left a nice escape hatch for Koenigsegg in the event that the team actually does set a lap record:

"Will we gun for a record this year? Maybe. It depends on many, sometimes mundane, factors such as track access/availability, driver availability, the weather and other commitments that may pose a conflict in terms of timing."

Wade reminds us that the road to Nurburgring glory is a long one, and it's not over 'til it's over. Stay tuned.
Here's the 0-300-0 World Record, VBOX starts at 1:40:
