Tires for 20"

Hello guys,

I'm going to upgrade my 18" stocks to 20" DPE wheels for my 2009 F02. Just wondering what is the right tire set up for the 20" wheels? The width of the wheels are 20x9 Front and 20x10.5 Rear. Do you guys think 20x11 Rear is too much for 295 tires?

Thanks,
Anthony

Yes it does have Integral Active Streering; does it make any much difference to choose the tire diameters, etc?

As long as you keep the OD the same as what is specified by BMW, you should be ok in either going up or down in RIM sizes.

As for the width of the tires, I think the maximum you could put on the back is about 285. If memory serves me right, I think that's what BMW offers on some of the optional tire packages for the new 7 series. I have the PDF document here somewhere that lists all of the optional tires BMW offers for the F01/F02.

BMW uses 275 with the sport package wheels. If you have IAS on your car and you go wider on your tires, you run the risk of having them rub against the inside of your wheel wells when you turn!
Remember that the back wheels now turn up to 3deg (which doesn't sound like much, but believe me it's enough)!!!

Thanks so much for the info! I just love the look of wider tires.. Feels that 275 looks too "narrow" for my taste. Hope others can chime in here to share their opinions, It would be great if 295 fits well & doesn't cause any problem to the car.
