Question What is a "good" discount for 750?

I am shopping around for the best lease deal for 750 xDrive. Is $5K discount (approx. 5.7%) from MSRP a good one?

A MB dealer offered me a higher discount for S400 hybrid, but I am not sure if it is a good idea to buy MB now, when they likely introduce a new W222 next year...

What discount should I expect for a $90K car?

For 750xi leases the current mf is .00230 and residual is 55% for 15k miles / 36 months.

Dealers usually add a number to the mf for profit

first off, don't look at the MSRP. go to edmunds.com configure your car and start from invoice and just keep moving up in what you're willing to pay the dealer for profit. the dealers try to hide that business is still slow from the peak, and they rather move inventory than be stuck.

tell them do you want the $2-3k or sit on $80k to make an extra $2k.

plus they also make money on service and financing so they should make good money off the transaction.

I wouldn't pay more than $5k over invoice unless it is a special order car. With that said, has anyone got more than $2k off MSRP on their special ordered car?

My deal for the 750li comes out to about 1.3k over the invoice/about 7.5k off the msrp. Not bad considering it is a custom order. The finance department has a .0002 increase over the base mf BMW offers. Overall it is the best deal I could find and we have bought 2 car from them before. Also BMW does not have any cash rebates currently the 7.

For a non custom order 750x, you could try for invoice price. Since the invoice on the 750xi is 78200 according to edmunds without any options.

$2500 and gave $500 pocket money to the guy who referred me. i didn't want to haggle this time because it's special order and they will rant that they only get 3-4 in a year if they're lucky. the discount was more of a courtesy bone they threw me. now if the car was on the lot or in fleet, it is a different story.

Thank You for your info ruey220.

I also think you are one of the lucky few
that got the first few batch of Alpina B7
intended for US market too.
at least you are the first one who have Alpina B7 delivered on this forum so far...

i ordered the car before it was even advertised as being for sale it should have come first batch or my dealer must be at the bottom of the BMW food chain...

but as far as lucky is concerned, timing was my problem, they told me i can have it by late mar/early april and i would have liked that as dow was over 11k, then it comes perfect timing when market is near 52 week low. i don't consider that part lucky...

then again maybe i'm lucky i qualified for a 5 year 2.9% financing with nothing down...

As far as I know the invoice price is not dealer's cost. they usually get special deals with the vendor and pay much less.

Check this link (a bit old though)

What is the tax in your state, assuming you don't have the taxes in your calculation. What are the break down of fees, you will probably have a lease acquisition fee, ..

Also the money factor should be .00250 at the most, the current bmw mf for jully is .00230. You should be able to get about 2k lower on your selling price. So you would be getting about

$1182 $0 down / with $1800 in fees

pm me if you need more help.

I believe this is incorrect. Every site, Edmonds.com being the most informative, states that there are no holdbacks, dealer incentives or hidden cash given to dealers. There may be promotional sales incentives based on volume, but as for an individual car- especially one you custom order- what you see on the invoice is what your dealer pays to BMW.

you are correct about invoice. I have friends who own the dealerships and they show me the invoice for what they paid the manufacturer and it is invoice price. any honest and no frills dealer will do this for you if they respect your business.

it's just like buying a house you can see how much the seller paid for it through title records, there's nothing wrong with disclosing price they paid and the money they're making off you if they're trying to make a deal.

invoice is what they paid, but doesn't mean the difference between sales price and invoice price is what they will make on the sale as others indicated incentives and holdbacks, etc.

Yes, I think it is the case. Otherwise, they could not survive getting only the difference between the vendor invoice and sale price.

you will be surprised how much they make on service. a dealer can sell only a few cars a month and do really well with a busy service & parts dept. reason being is the franchise is exclusive to a certain geographic area with most manufacturers and there is a percentage of newer car owners that prefer to have their car serviced at the dealer. Also, some parts just can't be ordered in the aftermarket.
