How do i activate the easy entry/exit feature on the steering column? Its mentioned in the manual but there is no explanation on how one gets it to work.

It should work automatically once you switch off the engine. Make sure you adjust your seat, steering wheel hight and adjustment together with your door mirrors and store in the seat memory settings. Once you do that it should work like clockwork. You may have the steering wheel in its furthest away and highest position in which case it has nowhere to go.

Maybe you should try to recalibrate it. Adjust the wheel all the way up and then all the way down, all the way in and all the way out. After that, set it to your preferred position and then set your seat memory again and see what happens.

Just noticed that it's actually when you open the door that the wheel adjusts rather than when you switch of the engine. Maybe should check your setup in iDrive - Vehicle settings to ensure you have seating position set to automatic.

The car moves the steering wheel to the top most position and opens the seats side bolsters to the widest position when you either turn the engine off and turn the power off (press the engine start/stop button a second time but you need to take your foot OFF the brake or else you start the engine again!) or when you open the door after you turned the engine off (only pressed the engine start/stop button once).

Helpful.
