Towed In With 326kms On The Clock!!!!

Yes.Thats right. 2 1/2 weeks old, 326 kms on clock, towed into dealer this morning.

2009 750i

Had driven about 5kms, all well, came to a halt at a 4way stop.
As I attempted to take off, suddenly heard a loud bang and the vehicle seemed to lose compression. Did not switch off....no smoke.....just would not accelerate despite benig in DRIVE. Tried switching off and then restarted, engaged DRIVE, but would still not move.
Subsequently towed in to dealer....awaiting diagnostics.

To say I am not happy would be putting it mildly!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear that! Hope it's nothing too serious!

Keep us posted what the issue is.

So much for hoping it's something small.
DRIVESHAFT!!!!
Apparently broke at the coupling to the transmission at the front.
Speculate " metal fatigue " ....at 326kms.
Awaiting further analysis and repair.

Shocking. As much as I like BMW, there is too much of this kind of failure going on. The HPFP issue on the turbo 6 is happening at very high frequency and hasn't been fixed in over 3 years. There are all kinds of software snafus with Idrive and the programming for the DCT transmissions and on and on...It is really undermining my confidence in the company. Don't they test this stuff?
Somehow Lexus gets this stuff right,

Heading into the dealers for round 2 of the HPFP failure. The first one lasted for over a year and a half. This one seems to want to break in 5 months since... almost kills the joy of driving 'the ultimate driving machine' ... ALMOST!

Wow... I assume you were still breaking the car in (as in keeping the rpms below 3000 and not going any faster than 160km/h for the first 2000km)?!?
