Possible, yes. Likely, no. We are not actively pursuing any Alpina's for R&D so unless one just happens to fall into our lap nothing will be developed specifically for the Alpina B7.

How about cars with extended warranty from bmw. I have a 7yr, 200000km warranty but would not want anything to compromise that. Thx

Dinan only matches the factory new car warranty (first 4yr/50k). Does not apply to CPO or extended warranties I am afraid.

So then what happens with your warranty after that?? Does that mean engine will no longer have a warranty after original 4 years? Will BMW cover engine after? A little scary if you ask me.

Ultimately it depends on the problem, should one arise, for that period after the initial 4YR/50k and the end of the 7yr/200k. If it is deemed as somehow caused by a Dinan component then BMW would not warranty it. If it is unrelated then they still would. Also depends on how the warranty claim is submitted altogether and how forthright the SA is with all the information.

In general though the car after 4yr/50k should be treated just like it would be after the factory new car warranty expires on a normal car.... a car without warranty.

Hi guys- I recently purchased online this Dinan Stage 1 for my G11 750xi. The dealer wants close to $500 for 2 hrs labor to install.. Do you see any warantee issues if I have a dealer from the Dinan authorized (non BMW) dealers next me install?

Also, wondering if anyone installed on their G11 yet and what their thoughts are..

Thanks!!!

Eli-

I had a performance shop that only does bmw install mine
Paid $450 with pick up and delivery.
Bmw has since serviced the car no issues or comments. It's an amazing tune. Open the exhaust flap all the time permanently with the bimmer code or bimmer link app and enjoyment level gets better.

I opened mine up removing a fuse. When did Bimmercode app add this - not showing on the site for G30 or G11?

I don't think you are able to code this with Bimmercode- I did it with Bimmerlink on my G11.

Since like it open all the time, the fuse pull is simplest and cheapest.

The Dinan performance tune I ordered arrived today and I thought I'd mention that it came with an invoice from Powerteq and a notice at the top stating: "We welcome APR and Dinan to the Powerteq family effective April 1, 2019!" I googled Powerteq and I guess they themselves are part of the Holley Performance Group.

I have an apointment Monday for an early oil change and to have the Dinan tuning hardware installed. It looks pretty similar to a JB4 tune which I've done before, so I might end up just installing it myself.

Following up my own post... I watched a video on Dinan's website where Steve Dinan talks about how much better their system is than other "piggyback" tunes because they use additional sensors to monitor the wastegate signal and the O2 sensors, etc and "not just the MAP sensor."

However, inside the box for my Elite V2 tune all there is a is a control box and 2 replacement MAP sensors and they've apparently done away with all the additional sensors that supposedly made their system so much better.

Also, my control box is labeled as being for a N63TU whereas the packaging box says it's for an N63TU2 engine, so I'm not sure if they also sent me the wrong control box.

Has anyone else purchased a Dinan tuner recently for a G12 750?

I heard they updated it making mine obsolete but I'd love to hear it from DINAN as the what is new and why

I wouldn't worry about the mislabeled pieces I think mine came same way and they said go by the outside of the box because we use same parts for multiple engines

I had it installed today and..... I can't tell the difference. Honestly, my car might actually feel slower now. And the Sport Display shows the car topping out at around 450HP. I'm wondering if they installed it incorrectly or something. Is there a boost gauge display I can turn on somewhere in the settings on this car?

Either the Elite Ver. 2 tune is beyond worthless or they really did send me the wrong ECU. I haven't had a chance go do any timed 0-60 runs because of traffic during the day and bad weather at night, but my car definitely feels slower with the tune installed. Especially low end torque. It's just gone. I took the tuned ECU off and installed the provided bypass and now the car has its part-throttle torque back again. Hopefully I can do a timed run later tonight.

Unfortunately ive read too many stories of failed Dinan tunes from F01/2 cars and onwards. There was a big thread from someone who went all out on his F01 750, stage 3, intercoolers, every possible option Dinan had. He had same issues. There tunes do not seem to work. Car performs well stock. 👌

After snowing here every day for the past week or so, we finally had a sunny day so I could sort this all out. I had removed the Dinan ECU last week and installed the bypass plug and the car was driving just fine. I reinstalled the Dinan ECU last night and....it's working!

Using the Dash Command app, I did a 0-60 run in 4.9sec compared to about 5.5sec with the bypass plug installed. This wasn't using launch control; just mashing the pedal when the light turned green. I don't think the Dash Command app is very accurate, so I'm sure the car is quicker than that. I just wanted to verify that the tune is working and that the car is faster than stock (ie.,with the bypass plug in place).

Maybe the Dinan ECU just needed a hard reset or something, but it seems to be working well now. I'll probably do some more 0-60 comparisons between Dinan ECU and the bypass plug once the weather warms up. It was in the low 30°'s when I tested the car earlier and the roads were also a bit damp.
