BMW 7 Series I-Drive Office - No Iphone?

I am trying to understand why the 2014 750LI that I own does not allow the iphone 5S to work with the office app on the i-drive menu? Anyone have any ideas?

Did your car come equipped with the BMW Apps feature? I have a 2012 740Li equipped with BMW Apps and my iPhone 5s performs some (but not all) office functions via iDrive. For example, I'm able to read incoming SMS messages. Additionally, using the BMW Connected app feature, I'm able to access my calendar to see upcoming meetings, who has been invited to them, directions, etc. It's actually pretty cool.

Try downloading the BMW Connected app from the App Store then launching it after connecting your iPhone to your car's USB port:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bmw-...406975118?mt=8

I also send addresses for navigation from my iPhone directly to my car's iDrive by using the My BMW Remote app:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/my-b...786203885?mt=8

Enjoy!

Iphone's are not compatible with the OFFICE function

Check compatability of any phone here:

iPhone is compatible with some, but not all Office functions, so it's not as black-and-white as your statement above appears.

For example, when my iPhone is connected (iPhone 5s running iOS 7.1) and I have the BMW Connected app launched, I can choose Office from the iDrive menu, and have access to "Messages" <-- SMS / iMessages only; and "Calendar" <-- full access to my calendar including meeting titles, start times, end times, and attendees / agendas.

I have to wonder what phones it works with? There are only four major operating systems.

Blackberry
Android
Microsoft
Apple's iOS

Although there are many more Android phone from various Manufactures, the iPhone still has the largest market share among hardware manufactures.

Also, you would think after the major iPod integration efforts in the past there would be more cooperation between the two companies.

The most recent data from Nielsen shows:

Android OS, 36%
Apple iOS, 26%
RIM BlackBerry OS, 23%
Microsoft Windows Mobile, 9%
All the rest 6%

If I had to guess, someone at M$ locked in an exclusive deal with BMW... You never know.

Some of the options work on my 2012 7 series. I can receive all emails and text messages through the Office menu on my iDrive. It may have limited compatibility but some features do work.
