Sakhir Orange Leather Question
I may be looking to order a 2016 M3 with Sakhir Orange/Black Extended Merino Leather, but I was wondering if anyone here has any feedback on that color.
My BIG question is, can you eliminate that RED strip on the doors, just leave it all BLACK? I like the red seats, but I don't like that stripe on the door. Any input will be greatly appreciated. |

You could do an individual order and probably get rid of the red on the doors. It will be pricy. Or you could just order SO interior and offer to swap with someone who has black interior on here.
Best of luck to you. |

Unfortunately, no. I work for Century West BMW in North Hollywood and own an AY F82 over black full leather. Full silverstone was my first pick but I didn't like the contrasting stripe on the door panel as well.

The seats and the stips on the doors are both orange and look great. The SO leather looks much better in person than in pics. I was hesitant about it when I saw pics of my car but loved it as soon as I saw it.
Also consider full leather as an upgrade to extended. The leather dash in particular looks and feels outstanding.

I am EXTREMELY conservative when it comes to many things. Especially decisions with cars.
I was about to place an order for a MW car with black extended leather. Then a dealer 2 hours away got a MG/SO car in. I had yet to see a MG M3. So I took the drive to check it out. Not only was I BLOWN AWAY by the MG....I was SHOCKED on how absolutely amazing the SO looked. Never in a million years would I have order a car in SO. Now as you can see in my signature I ordered a MG/SO. I went extended vs. full because I really disliked the orange hockey stick w/ full leather. My advice is to check it out in person. I'm glad I did!

Have you seen SO in person? I'm really conservative when it comes to colors, but the SO looks really good (even on the doors) in natural light. |

It seems to me that the stripes on the interior of the F8x cars were envisioned on an F82 interior. On the F82, the color stripe starts with the armrest, which is CONNECTED to the color on the door panel, which is then CONNECTED to the dash. To my eye, it works on the F82 because there is continuity and flow in the color stripe.
On the F80, the door panel color doesn't connect to the armrest or the dash. The flow isn't there like it is on the F82. I chose full amaro brown on my F80. Amaro brown had solid colored for panels and lower dash, which, IMO, works better on the F80. |

I went Sakhir Orange on the interior as well. As with all colors and options I strongly suggest you see them in person. The online pictures are helpful but seeing and feeling it in person allows for you to experience it. Pictures can't do that for you.
I had my mind set on black extended and decided to test drive an M4 with SO interior and I was pleasantly surprised. I went ahead and changed my build. With that said, I'm quite conservative and try to not stand out too much. SO is very well done and looks great in person. My advice...see this stuff in person if at all possible before ticking boxes. |

I absolutely love my MG/SO. The stripe doesn't bother me at all since I never stare at it while driving anyway. The entire dash sits well together even with just the extended leather that I have.

I'm on a mobile device so it's tougher for me to post a pic, but if you take a closer look, on the F80,there is a gap btwn the door panel stripe and the dash stripe. The stripes do line up, but they're not connected.

Just get the full leather option and then buy the black interior bits that you need after the fact.

Thanks. But I guess it is six and one half dozen the other. With the F80, the orange strip "flows" to the corresponding one on the back door.
Either one connects well with the hockey stick piece on the dash (Full Leather only). |

I'm not trying to convince you that it looks bad, but it is different. And to my eye, it just works much better on the M4. YMMV As an aside, i was never thrilled that the driver's side dash stripe doesn't extend to the right hand side of the steering column on either car. But that's just me. |

+1 The full SO option goes best with the SO exterior. When I saw that combination on an M4 at my dealer in July last year, I instantly made up my mind that that's what I wanted. A couple of weeks later I ordered my car and got delivery just before Thanksgiving. After 9 months and 6000 miles, I'm still loving it!

I really wanted to love SO paint, but because I'm a Texas Aggie, it is just too close to the orange of our rival Texas Longhorns. It would be like asking a Yankees fan to buy a car with the a blue/red exterior/interior that matched the Red Sox! |
