Anyone on here have a & with rear seat entertainment? I was wondering if google chrome cast is a possibility for Netflix or is it possible to stream it from my phone?

Will have mine hopefully next week, if not the week after but yes this is possible. BMW have a video on this however their approach is using the inbuilt WiFi in the car which at least in the UK is expensive. Probably better using your mobile phone data. You can also use Miracast from a phone. Android generally has that built in but can get apps for that I believe on iOS as well. I've got rear seat entertainment on my M5 but it's an older gen without a HDMI port. However it will still play lots of different video formats off USB sticks which I find the easiest way to get media there without using lots of data / having to deal with bad mobile coverage spots when streaming. |

Do you need to connect your phone every time you get in the car or only once?

I figure if you setup a wireless hotspot on your mobile device and connect the Chromecast to that you could use it's data plan. I've looked at the in car hotspot and it's stupidly expensive with just 1GB per month in the UK. That wouldn't last any time at all so it's not really an option for streaming.
