Ordered 2017 Alpina B7

Just finished choosing options on the new car to replace my 2013 B7. Most of the options are the same as the 750Lxi so hoping to get some feedback on the packages, likes/dislikes. Particularly the drive assistance plus/plus II and the rear options. I ordered the one with the tablet but not the executive seating or rear entertainment. Let me know. Thanks. Oh and colors are Alpina Blue/Individual Caramel full merino

I'll ask my brother for you. Lease was up on his '13 B7 so he just picked up a '16 750 M sport loaded - as he says all options checked - as a bridge car until the next B7. I know he's impressed with the 7, but he found out the availability on the B7 will be sooner than he expected. He's already talking about getting out early. It's a disease

Here's what he said:

I ordered everything and use it all with the exception of the night vision.
The driver assistance packages are helpful and I use them regularly, the rear executive seating sets the car apart and elevates the interior. The only negatives are you lose the middle seat and the front passenger seat loses contour and massage function due to the electric folding foot rest.
I see Alpina is offering 21” forged non run flat and 20” Run flats – both rims are identical in style – I would order the 20”s -, they ride better and are worry free with no increase in road noise and a better ride

Thanks will look at the options. The 20s are not available until October, the 21s are available from day 1.

in my opinion

if you are not chauffeuring anyone, the rear exec package is not needed as it removes a couple of features from the passenger seat. I rather get ZLU (lux Rear seat package) as then you give the rear heated/vent seats along with the 7" tablet, add the rear entertainment (6FR) and you don't lose the middle portion to that huge "island" in the middle.

The night vision, unless you live in a remote area. Not needed.

Thanks. I ordered almost the exact configure except no rear entertainment. I did get the night vision as I have to drive 50 miles each way and at night there are deer.

I don't trust the US Pricing and Order Guides for the wheel specs and availability dates. The 21" have not been released for production in any market due to a delay of the front tires from Michelin (M760i is also impacted). Availability has been moved from 7/16 to 10/16 in other markets. The wheel images in the order guide are all the 21" forged design (exposed hub bolts - nearly identical to the B5/6 Edition 50 wheels). The 20" wheels are the Alpina Classic design with covered hardware. They are not identical to each other.

Production has already begun and Michelin still does not show the front tires as available so unless they're bogarting all the 21" wheels for US orders until Oct, the guides need to be corrected ASAP.

My car is in the order bank. The 20s were not available until Oct 2016. Both wheels are new since the 7 series has a unique bolt pattern not shared with previous BMWs . And yes the info from Alpina says exposed bolts with standard valve location and forged and the system shows production for my car in August. Tire sizes look to be identical to current Alpina B7 and since the new vehicle is lighter I will assume current tire works. The 20s are probably an issue because BBS has to make them through casting.

The 20" Classic that's been shown until sometime very recently is a 5x112. Now all the press images are photoshopped with an exposed hardware version. My company makes the 21" forged wheel and they've been sitting for months. Tire sizes are larger for the G12 B7X (255/35-21&295/30-21). The fronts don't exist in the database. The car has roughly the same curb weight as the previous gen but the load rating for the tire needed to be increased due to suspension geometry and allowable pressure compensation.

I knew it!

I was wondering how the heck the ordering guide showed 255/35-21 and 295/30-21 but yet, no company knew anything about those sizes (I had HRE dig and dig!!)!

I posted this and included a portion of an internal email that showed the available dates in another thread a while back but can't find the attachment (mods may have been asked to remove) and it's not on my phone either to my surprise.

The order guide lists 2 styles:

C15 (Classic - 15th Design Version) for 20"
CS16 (Classic Sport - 16th Design Version) for 21"

20" tires are available in DOT spec now, 21" are at this time. RoW Spec 21" are available...an entire 2 tires right now. I think I know how this will play out to keep buyers happy and stay on the current schedule, especially for Euro Deliveries.

My car is scheduled production middle to late July with delivery sometime in September. And yes it has the 21 wheels

This was posted elsewhere but here is a cool video that shows the 21 inch forged wheels.

So my car changed status finally now 112 should enter production by end of week. Will update as soon as I hear. Expecting the car towards the end of the year.

Great news! Hopefully mine will be included in this batch since we ordered around the same time. Let me know when you get further updates.

Thanks!
