The dealer has to request the slot from BMW. I placed my order at the end of the day yesterday so the dealer hopes to confirm the delivery date on Monday. I am hoping it will be late this year or very early next year!

As we were discussing in the main M760Li thread, the BMW UK configurator does seem incomplete.

-No option to select Bower & Wilkins Sound System
-No info on High Gloss Shadow Line exterior surround

etc. etc.

The UK Cofigurator shows B&W included. Shadowline or Satin Aluminum can be requested for free in lieu of the Cerium Grey trim.

Hehe I meant for the M760Li.

BMW UK just kept on saying that Harman Kardon is included in their package but B&W is nowhere in sight.

Strangely, BMW Germany website does not yet have M760 listed in their configurator.

Perhaps later this year, when BMW.DE has M760 in config options, then maybe other features and options would be visible as well....

No worries...the U.K./EU markets have several Packages for free on a number of cars which aren't in that sub menu. Then when opening the options menu, it's not properly laid out for some reason. Anything with the grey check box is standard. The Incl in Package with no price and selectable x box should not be wholly in. Some are free options and others not offered due to higher level equipment exitsting.

There is something I haven't seen mentioned which is of interest regarding audio systems. Harman's acquisition of Bowers & Wilkins was relatively recent when the first 7er Preview was held. In the article I wrote revealing it was based off the Diamond System, there was more discussion as well I could not include at the time. The following month, Harman completed acquisition of Bang & Olufsen Automotive Sound.

The master equipment codes on Gxx cars now have Bang & Olufsen and Bowers & Wilkins in the database along with one using a working name. For all of them, incorporation of DIRAC DSP is quite significant. This processor is widely considered miles above all others and has been available in past BMW Models beginning with the E39 M5 - M Audio with Enhanced Bass, followed by BMW Individual Audio - fingers crossed its this that is returning. It would be very expensive but absolutely stunning. If anyone has a Rolls Royce dealer near by and wants to experience the most incredible vehicle audio system using many of these components, stop in and ask if a Wraith Inspired by Music or SWB Ghost with Bespoke Audio is available. One may never be able to listen to music in any other car again after that.

^^^
Interesting

In any case, I'm personally easy to please in terms of car audio so any branded sound system is superb for me (and anything that has less than six speakers is crap haha)

However
AFAIK, I think the audiophile community believes that Bowers & Wilkins is better than Bang & Olufsen. In any case, based on the reviews of B&W systems used by Volvo and Maserati, I think I can understand why. Either way, HARMAN still wins haha

By the way, speaking of Rolls Royce, what is the sound system used in the Rolls Royce Wraith Black Badge???

Is it a HARMAN sound system? Or does Rolls Royce make their own in-house audio system?

In a surprise opportunity to visit the factory and meet the production director I was told that speaker wise, they use a variety of brands like Harman etc but for the audio side it was lexicon, i think he said lexicon 7. He also told me that Rolls Royce refuse to promote any other manufacturers brand so that why you wont see a logo except RR inside their cars.

I also had a ride in a long wheel base phantom which the driver turned up some classical music to a louder volume, it was good but I can't say I left the experience thinking I'm missing something with my HK setup.

I also have B&W as my home cinema setup but i could not spend 4.5k on it for the car!

Hehe in short, it's all HARMAN

Anyways, what else can we talk about regarding this car............

Oh yes,
I mentioned in the other thread regarding "Exclusive Black Nappa Leather"

So is it just a name for extended leather and is not as complete as say Black Full Merino Leather in an M5 F10???

Or is there something else about it?
