Apple Car Play upgrade for 750i

Does anyone have any ideas if BMW will offer an Apple Car Play upgrade for the 2016 750i. Purchased my "spaceship" earlier this year (2016). Its fully loaded, however, I would hope with the latest i-drive system, they would be able to offer the Apple Car Play upgrade through software upgrade... I asked my dealership and they have no clue.....

How do they NOT know? let me know your thoughts.

Apparently it is a option through Connected-drive , this has been confirmed for September 2016 models on wards

its been metioned in post just a few below from this one "apple Carplay" by tyzer...

"So my car arrived and i found that by going through the iDrive BMWconnectedstore, I could see the CP option (phew). However I needed the purchase information etc to be registered, so I ordered via my pc and it installed itself over the air. I had several failed attempts to get it connected, it's quite fussy in terms of procedure. Basically you install it very similar to the bluetooth iPhone connection process, but add a CP device instead, and let the phone take the lead in terms of answering configuration "yes" "no" options."

Hopefully you can double confirm this and which month your car is

I see it is available on cars as of Sept 2016, but my 2016 750 i was received in January 2016...i do not have the CP in my connected drive, do you think there is a way i will be able to get it? I have the most current drive 5.0

BMW doesnt currently list a way to get it on the older cars.
I am also not sure if you require the option "Apple Carplay preparation" like later cars had.

Have you checked your VIN to see if this option is fitted ?

If it is fitted it may just bee a software update you require.

You could also get a definitive answer by asking you dealers service department to submit a "Puma" case to BMW asking if retrofitting is possible.
