Courtesy Lighting Question

Is there a way to keep the courtesy lighting - front and rear lamps - lit after you lock the doors via the comfort door lock button on the driver's door handle? I have the setting set to have the lighting stay on for 60 seconds, but I have never been able to realize same as the lighting turns off immediately upon locking the doors... Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

You have to pull the lighting stalk towards you as you get out of the car (like flashing the brights). This will keep the lights illuminated for the time you have set.
