750IL XDrive Turbo Lag

I am new to the Forum and need some help:

I am very frustrated with the extreme Turbo lag of my 2013 750IL XDrive off the line. When I push the accelerator to floor hard its as if nothing happens for a second, then the car starts to move. As RPMs hit 3k it rockets to 60 in 2-3 seconds. The whole experience is frustrating as I upgraded from an Audi S6 which has huge power as soon as you stomp on the gas.

Does anyone else find this to be a problem and are there any fixes. I called Dinan but they have no fixes for the 2013 models and have a lot of complaints about the turbo lag? The dealer said "that's the way it is"..

Make sure you are in sport mode.

Also, don't slam the accelerator. BMW treats that as an error and deliberately pauses as an "are you sure" verification.

Depress the accelerator at moderate rate until full throttle and the engine responds in sport mode!

+1. I experience very little turbo lag. The power delivery of V8TT is a swelling experience, as most big luxury engines should be. It's not an on/off switch. If you want on/off switch performance, get a super charged engine.

Try resetting your throttle adaptation. Search the forums and you'll find the DIY instructions, the whole reset take literally 30 sec.

Thanks for all the input. Very helpful - will check the suggestions. Sport mode is the first button I push when I start the car. Its the best. Wish the suspension would stiffen more also as its still boaty around tight corners.

Unrelated to you query but just wanted to ask if you Were you driving the present S6 or the previous one.I am surprised about your boaty feeling around corners feeling.I test drove an M5 and a 750li xdrive recently and found that the 750li x drive was ~70-80% close to the M5 in driving dynamics.
