This covers G12 7 Series produced from January 2015 to August 2016. Check your drive's door jam sticker to see if your 7 Series was produced in the affected timeframe. If it was then reach out to your service dealership and ask them to check DCSnet for you. Read more about the G12 BMW 7 Series Situation Premature engine wear may occur if an interim engine oil service is not performed before the first engine oil service is recommended or due. Procedure This applies to vehicles that have a mileage of more than 1,200 miles on the odometer and have more than 2700 miles remaining before first engine oil service is due. Your dealer will have to review the current vehicle status and vehicle maintenance history to identify what scenario matches the vehicle. Vehicles that have already received the first engine oil service: No further action required. Vehicles with less than 1,200 miles on the odometer: Wait until the vehicle has accrued more than 1200 miles to perform the procedure. Vehicles with less than 2,700 miles remaining until the first oil service is due: No further action required. Oil will be changed at first service. Vehicles with greater than 1,200 miles on the odometer and more than 2,700 miles remaining until the first oil service is due: Replace the engine oil and engine oil filter as per repair instruction for engine oil service. The dealership should not reset the CBS for the engine oil change. |
