Staggered wheels with IAS possible?
I just purchased a 2016 740i with 19x8.5, 245/45 on all four corners. I want to upgrade to a staggered setup with 20x8.5, 245/40 front, 20x10.0, 275/35 rear.
Here's my question: Will I have a problem with the wider tires in the rear with the rear steering? Is there enough clearance? BMW Genius didn't know and said to call the dealer. I spoke with the shop forum and he wasn't really sure and said he usually goes by what the tire pressure sticker says on the B pillar. The sticker only shows my tire setup and not staggered. This is my 5th 7-series and the others always showed more tire setups. I checked the 2016 ordering guide and it seemed ok to purchase these options together. Any ideas? Anyone have this setup I'm trying to do? Thanks! George |

The M760Li has a staggered setup just like your after and comes with IAS as standard. So unless they tweaked that model somehow to allow this which I don't believe they did, it likely should be fine.
However I'm not an expert so cannot say for sure. Just saying they do a model stock with the setup your after. Last edited by FastLaneJB; 04-03-2018 at 08:07 AM.. |
