My brother was with some small telco that got bought out by Verizon. He had unlimited data with the small company and Verizon has to honor that agreement as long as he doesn't enter into a new contract with Verizon. He's refuses to do anything that will rewrite his contract and he regularly runs up 20-30GB/mo by watching Hulu and other online stuff. His USB WAN device is his only internet access. Verizon must hate his ass.

I have an old Sprint unlimited everything. They continue to grandfather when I renew for 2 more years when get the wife or son a new phone.

My poor old i4 is starting to not hold a day's charge, and takes forever to find a name in my list of about 100 contacts.

I have a coworker who works in China. He HAD unlimited global data. When I said had, from what I understand, the co. was told that they could get him a iPhone 6 through a buddy upgrade, by ordering against one number, then activating against his. Not only was this untrue, his first month's bill was over $6,000. The first gb was covered by the monthly plan--the next 3xx MB was charged at $20.48/mb. We were all laughing about it. The good thing is he back-bills the client in China, and they didn't even care one bit. He said he's already used over 2 gb this month, so at minimum, the usage charges will be $20,480. Usually, the flight out there costs that much, but not a cell phone bill.

update: I just shot him an IM, and he said it's still not unlimited and expensive, but they put him on a $25/100 MB plan, so it won't be as ridiculous....$250 per addl' gb.....
