i7: Power Supply, Stop Driving Error

Just encountered this error message today, and it was accompanied by a message saying the vehicle cannot be charged. It has been towed to the dealership, but wondering if anyone else has encountered something similar.

Lots of these messages on the iX too. 90% of the time (or more) they go away after parking and locking and most never return.

With modern cars, always turn the car off. Let is sit locked, and then see if the message is still there or returns. Our dealer told us if the message does not come back...no need for a visit.

Thanks, but unfortunately this is persistent even after a power cycle. Dealership says they are talking to BMW USA to root cause this.

i love my 2023 i7 xDrive60, but 9 months in, its had some issues
I got a drivetrain malfunction notice while on a busy highway, and then the car basically just slowed down to a stop and said "goodbye" it wouldn't start back up and had to get towed to the dealership for repair. Apparently a cooling system for the battery had malfunctioned and had to be replaced.

I had to get some other software glitches taken care off more recently, and was given a brand new 2024 i7 edrive50 as a loaner. on the way to work, i got a drivetrain malfunction notice and this car too just quickly slowed to a stop and said "goodbye" I had to get this one towed to the dealership too. I'm guessing a similar thing may have occured with the battery cooling?? not sure, because this one is not my personal car, so they didn't tell me what was wrong with it.

Has anyone else had these types of issues. I LOVE my car, but this has gotten me very nervous now!

I guess we have been lucky, very lucky with our i-models.

Three i4
Four iX
i5
i7
and an XM plug in

We have never had any "bad issues" and none of our BMW EVs ever needed to be towed or even a repair. The iX had lots of recalls, but they were fixed in either a matter of hours, or a day.

So sorry some of you are going through this. I am over the moon happy with BMW EVs.

None critical problems with i7 (1 year, 27k km/17k miles) or iX (2,5 years 47k km/29k miles), even in freezing temperatures (-20 Celsius) and on German Autobahn. Just some small but annoying software issues remaining.
