Is the BMW M7 testing in plain sight?

Despite BMW's recent statement that no M7 is planned, could they simply be denying until they're ready to confirm? Until now there have only been rumors and hearsay regarding any potential plans for an M7, but could these photos be the first physical evidence of a potential M7?

Two intriguing BMW 7 Series prototypes were very recently spied in testing. Although they appear to be regular G11/G12 7 Series without most of the telltale M bits (M style bodywork, M steering wheel, exposed quad exhaust tips), they were fitted with 19" BBS wheels - the same ones we have been seeing on the next generation F90 M5 test mules. Even more interesting is what's seen behind the wheels - cross-drilled rotors and large M brake calipers. No BMW 7 Series, BMW Individual model, nor the recently revealed M760i feature cross drilled rotors, and such large brakes and cross-drilled rotors have traditionally only been equipped on full M models.

To add fuel to the fire, the two 7 Series prototypes were being tested alongside two BMW X6 M and one F10 M5 Competition (seen in photos), which indicates that BMW has high performance aspirations for whatever this model may be (and we hope it's an M7).

What would a hypothetical M7 be powered by? Most likely an uprated version of the current M5's 4.4L twin turbo V8 S63Tu engine with 600+ HP. And if this is no M7, what could BMW be testing?

BMW M7 Mule?

I want to know how is this M7 go up against Alpina B7 and M760Li.
What engine will M7 use? Tuned version of V12 from M760Li or just a V8?

It was only a matter of time that BMW comes out with a competitor towards the s63. That is to say that this is really the M7..... :

Isn't there an updated 400bhp tri turbo diesel in the pipeline soon? Could it be that?

It's funny how BMW removed the centre caps for the wheels, brake covers, and covered the badged on the front and back, but left the 'BMW Individual' mark on the trunk chrome.

I have been saying this for a while now. They don't want to distract attention from the M760i, so they say "no M7."

How about and S63Tu, pushing a correct number just to mess with everyone, 700hp.

Even at that number it will still be underrated.

For limited market niche, but the dollars there are very serious.

The first BMW M7!!!!!!

Interesting.

Those wheels look pretty bad in plain all black.

Are these non run flat tires? To my knowledge all M cars come without runflats.

I would say, this is NOT an M7.

I would say this is a hybrid test mule.

Look at the closed front kidney grills which make me believe this car is somehow electric.

The new 7 Series has active kidney grilles which can be closed or opened. And not sure why a hybrid model would have cross drilled rotors.

Wouldn't a twin turbo v12 require slightly more air to cool it than those tiny motorized vents? Plus the vents on this car look more like one piece than multiple. Just sayin...

Why does a 2006 C class 4 cylinder mercedes have cross drilled rotors?

It would be sad if they only gave it the 4.4L twin turbo... especially since they have a perfectly good V12 Twin turbo laying around. I mean if Velos or any other flash tuner can extract more power from the current v12 model... I'm sure BMW can do a lot more with it.

Performance bits - eventually an upgrade for 760?

If it was M7 - why not ceramic then, because of the weight/size of car?

Not really. Much rather have a proper NA engine rwd manual sports car (like porsche does) than another heavy M(arketing) pointless exercise than only can be driven in germany at speeds that a 740d could too. A z2 would get my money. This wouldnt
