Wow, those kidney grills look HUGE! I'm sure it will look great on the final product tho. Can't wait to see the finished product and see how close to the cs it will be!

Exhaust showing is a must.

I hope they offer the black-and-white paisleys as an option.

Haha

I knew someone would post it but not many people noticed the website also had bigger pics. I took my time to save all the pics to my harddrive and upload them to the web again. Just incase the website removes the pics or something. It happens sometimes lol.

IT'S...it's...bland? What happened to this car? It looks slab-sided to me. Where's the sculpting a la the Concept CS? The hood, the lower door flaring, the character line, it was all reasonable on the CS and it's missing on this car.

The front bumper also looks like an afterthought. I was one of the few who loves the large lower dual air intakes that were on the CS. This just looks bland. C'mon BMW, pull through for me.

Hopefully those camo strips cover up some of the flaring.

+1 on the blandness. Doesnt look much far off the current 7 series in terms of bodywork. It just looks sleeker. Also, I made a post but dont know what happened to it...

I said...I love the low mean look of the CS but this new 7 looks a bit like the new Z4, even the front bumper. Hopefully it'll look a lot better in real-life!

Also, there's too many slats in the kidney grilles. I wanted it to be simpler ala CS Concept with fewer slats!

Thanks lol. That pic is just beautiful. I struggle to find anything that I could improve in the design of the CS. It has really grown on me.

Ya, I saw that post about the Z4 thing get deleted. I made a few posts that got deleted too. I think something happened when the admin joined this thread with Jason's.

And +1 and a +1.

Interesting, the front grille reminds me a bit of the E39.

What a cop out! It's so far away from the CS Concept. It's too soft looking, we need innovative designs, not status quo.

+1 they definitely took the "safe" route on this one. I just really hope that when all the leftover camo gets taken off it will look more agressive and more of the cs comes out, I'm not holding my breath tho...

CS and 7er

I'm guessing BMW is saving the more aggressive design for its future CS model. Given that BMW has already confirmed the CS for production, it would not have made much business sense if the 7er were to adopt all of the styling cues of the CS. I agree that the 7 we see in these pictures look a tad conservative, but perhaps without all the tape, some more aggressive rims, and a lower suspension, the design will look compelling. Even with the tape though, I already prefer this design to all of its competitors. The S has arches that appear like aftermarket tack-ons and the LS appears boat-like from certain angles.
