To my horror, look what I stumbled upon today!! Why is this happening!?

That's not normal that's for sure!

You should go back to your dealer, complain and ask to have them replace it!

looks like its bubbling, take it to the dealer and have them replace it

Brought it to my dealer, showed it to my service writer who brought out the service manager. Stated they never seen it before, took pictures, and ordered a replacement part.
