Just took delivery of my new baby....
Took delivery of my 2009 750i Mineral White on Extended Oyster/Black Nappa Leather, Executive Package, Integral Active Steering, 19 Inch Style 252 Wheels, High Gloss Fineline Wood Trim.
This vehicle complements my current stable which includes a 2008 M3 Sedan, and a 2007 CLS 550 (wife's ride...soon to be replaced with Mercedes GL SUV.) Had a few reservations about moving into 7 Series territory at the tender age of 35 but the more I drive the car the more I like it. The not unexpected contrast between the M and the 7 is amazing considering that these are two thoroughbreds from the same stable, similar in output. Punch the M and you could easily sustain whiplash as the roar of the V8 reaches crescendo, and watch as heads turn to see whats coming.... Punch the 7, and the only evidence of the almost as quick acceleration is a rapidly advancing speedometer and the scenery whizzing by....absolutely no fuss. When compared to the CLS..which I must admit is a sublime beauty and a close second to the M3 in the attention getting stakes ....adequately powered (at 382hp with 0 to 100 in 5,4)...the 7 stands out as being light years ahead technologically and in terms of interior design. Would be interested to know the average age of 7 series drivers on this forum...?? As a new member I have a couple of questions if I may? Firstly, as I stated earlier, I have the 19 inch wheels which are shod with high performance rubber. I have been offered a set of 18 inch wheels with all season tires(stock BMW equipment). Would these suffice for the mild winters in South West Ontario or would winter rubber be recommended? Secondly, after uploading my iTunes music collection to the hard drive, the list is being populated with playlists but not song titles. Any ideas? Pics of both the Beemers to follow soon.... Hoping to attend the Bimmerforums Fest in Newport KY. Any other Canadian / Detroit area interest? Let me know.... |
