Does the 760 need AWD?

Why doesn't the BMW 760li come with standard xdrive? How does the rear axle deliver all that power effectively? Is RWD with DSC really good enough for the V12 power?

Clever E-Diff, clever DSC, clever transmission, wide tyres, plenty of weight and well balanced. Sounds fin!
