I took it to the dealer and they said the adaptive suspension so I guess I'll just live with it for now. In my experience, replacing the sensor completely resolves this issue.

I've been noticing a strange rattling sound from the iDrive 8.5 system but I'm throwing a shadow code now. There's a massive DIY thread on this exact issue over in the DIY section.
