I think it's been said, but you do pick up close to one-stop in dynamic range and noise performance, so ISO 1600 is very usable, even for critical shots. You still need to avoid underexposing.
Like Ed says, the AF and FPS are top of the heap. Only when you start adding TCs to super-telephotos does the 1D X separate itself. Of course, the 1D X is still the ultimate in high-ISO performance.
If you don't shot wildlife or sports, then you don't need the super-AF and 10-fps and the 5D MkIII might be a better choice. If you need that functionality and you shoot focal-length limited a lot, then the 7D2 is a must have.
