General rule is that you wear the watch on your left hand.
In the olden days when watches had to be wound up every so often, the crown was placed on the right side of the face so you would use your dominant hand (right) to do the action. (if you were a lefty then you were just special)
The tradition carried on, and it's just the way things are. Now that the watches are either automatic or battery powered, positioning of the crown becomes redundant as it does not get used that often. With that said, wear it on whatever hand you don't wipe with.
