My buddy told me that a couple guys had their transmission blow up because the stock transmission is only meant to hold up to 600hp to the crank. Don't most guys with FBO and tune hit this number or close to it? What are your thoughts?

He also mentioned that, when buying a used M3, I need to be very careful because most guys probably beat on it. This is getting me a little paranoid regarding my decision. Can someone enlighten me further?
