I have a 2016 750 with the normal smooth leather armrest. When I had my spark plugs changed, the loaner was a 2020 740 with the quilted center armrest. It turns out that I really hated that. Feeling the stitching on my bare arm resting on it the whole time was not comfortable at all. I love the look of quilted seats and doors, but even the look of the quilted armrest wasn't my favorite, but then the uncomfort it provided kind of confirmed that it would not be choice for multiple reasons.
