American here, love my 328d! Definitely the best daily driver I've ever owned. 47 mpg (US gal) on the highway and 350 pound/feet of torque (mild flash tune). It's really the best of both worlds and proof that you can have your cake and eat it too. Wish they still had diesel models for sale here so my next bmw could also be a fuel efficient power house. Considering going hybrid or electric next but even those models aren't all available here. Frustrating since I really wanted a hybrid/electric X3.
I'm kicking myself for not getting into diesel ownership sooner. My 535d is proving to be a very nice car so far. It's a heavy AWD tank in the snow, seemingly unphased by our extreme cold, comfortable, powerful, and extremely frugal. The fact it's beautiful to look at is just icing on the cake!
