Be noted, the 48v talked about here is the ISG system (check Mercedes I6 and V8 48Vs), not the way too technologically inferior BSG system found from current B58 variants.
Could be the S59 engine to improve efficiency and fix turbo lag with electric boost, although to the vast majority fixing front end aesthetic is much more important.

Do we know for sure that BMW won’t add a 48v hybrid system to the S58 engine until production ends for the G80,G82 and G87?It would be nice to know because i don’t want a hybrid M car.
