What model year is the vehicle? I have a G12 2016 and had to download the update via BMW on windows, transfer to USB, and install that way. Since then there hasn't been any additional updates according to BMW when putting in my VIN. If your vehicle supports over thr air download (I think that's 2019+ years?) I'm not sure why it wouldn't trigger after downloading. Manual install following the above may be needed.
