[QUOTE=SoCal_NSX;28956191]haha....that was exactly what the wife said when I brought up the R8 idea

seriously tho, if I had got a manual 981 CS I would have kept it....

But...I think it's human nature to always want to evolve and climb to a higher level...you gotta have asperations

totally normal to always want the next best thing, my uncle was into boats and called it 2footitis, always wanting a boat that was 2 feet bigger

But what you might find is that the 981CS in manual is so good that it will be tough to find that next best thing

that was definitely my experience

when I first drove a 981S in 2013 I was absolutely blown away by the car and had to have one and then after I got one, a 2014 Cayman S in manual, I loved driving that car like I've never loved a car before or after, couldn't get enough of driving it for the first six months

but then of course I got used to the Cayman and the carswitchitis kicked in and i starting looking around to get that feeling I had with the cayman again

and I've test drove and also actually bought all kinds of cars over the last almost 10 years and never got that feeling again

tried aston martins, jags, 911's, bmw's, corvettes, mercedes, audi's,

and now I am back in a GTS 4.0 which is basically the same car with a little more power

the 981S in manual, for some of us, just hits all the marks so well, just the right size, beautiful, an amazing manual, naturally aspirated powerful motor with amazing throttle response and sound, wonderful handling, somewhat practical, rides decently

it's just such an amazing package that it is hard to find something better

good luck with the test drive, but my call is that you will much prefer the 981CS, the flat six just adds so much to the experience, for some of us
