if the camry was available with AWD i imagine it would take a great deal of customers away from subaru. i remember back in the day toyota offered "AllTrac" on their second generation camry and it was available with manual only which most customers did not want. even more rare was the camry wagon, manual, awd but either way i think it's a market that toyota is missing out on and considering the amount of camry they sell they could easily bury the extra costs across the entire line of camry as opposed to dumping it all on the one model/option and federalization costs may not be a factor either since the awd system was OK'd on that chassis when they had the Venza here and on the RX. acura is doing it on the TL so it may be something for them to consider but if TMC had a staunch aversion to AWD in their minivan because cost was a factor this idea may just be pie in the sky.
