Garage List
Crankcase hose leak

Had my Check Engine Light come on a couple of weeks ago. The car ran fine aside from that.

I brought in the car and it turns out the crankcase hoses were leaking oil. I did not see any oil on the ground in my garage but it was apparently burning off when it would drip on the engine. In hindsight, I do recall a very subtle oil smell in my garage, but it was minimal and did not give it any thought. Oil level would drop as well and had to top up 1L every 5,000KM which I know is not bad compared to some.

My car is a 2013 750i xDrive with 40,000km (24,000 miles)

Had not seen anyone with this issue before so thought I would post. I was told the hoses that were used for the replacement are a revised part over the original.

Attached in the invoice

Thank god for warranty, especially my extended warranty to 2020 or 160,000KM
