A good quality HID bulb (Osram, Phillips, etc) would provide improved light output over an oem hid bulb. Beware of cheap HID bulbs, they will likely provide reduced output. Change them in pairs, esp when using different types of bulbs or the age of the bulbs vary widely.
I have used knockoff HID bulbs & they were fine
