But hmm idk how it is in Calfiornia but here getting a whole ticket fully dismissed doesn't happen unless you are actually right or like prove that you were not speeding for example while in your case you were.

What happens is the lawyer will talk to the officer before the trial begins at the courthouse to make a deal for a lesser charge or to dismiss the ticket entirely. If not, then they go in front of the judge to argue the case. Some lawyers will not Do that and just ask for fine reduction & traffic school. You don't have to be present unless you plan to testify.
