Well, since 2008, the LA show has been boring because all the exotic manufacturers stopped coming due to "Global economic downturn" or some BS like that. Wow I didn't know the Exotics pulled out of LA a whole 10 years ago.

And yeah, it was big news earlier this year when first Mercedes, then BMW, then Audi pulled out of NAIAS. I didn't expect Audi to as they have offices in the Detroit area, but nevertheless it is what it is. It finally pushed them to move the show to October from 2020 onward. Execs and the press don't want to visit Detroit in the dead of January. October is the most beautiful month there and it is warm enough that people can enjoy the city too. Hopefully the Germans return.
