People pay $50/yr because the online portion is smoother and full of content. Netflix, Movie Rentals, Event invitations, demo's, arcade games, user friendly interface.
Don't get me wrong I am not a fanboy as I have a ps3 as well, but the only game that I play on it is Little big planet. Which I havent played in a while. Plus I like achievements, makes me feel like im not wasting my time lol.
