Some M* owners are just upset because their favorite badge car has been diluted a little bit. If these vocal M* owners (or fans) were truly focused on performance and quality, it wouldn't matter that the 340i badge now contains an "M". It doesn't change what the M2/3/4 offers.
The highly critical M* owners in this matter are sheeple in a wolf's sheet metal.
